Preparation Requirements

The primary requirement for admission to this program is evidence of intellectual achievement and potential for successful graduate study. Admission to the program requires a bachelor's (or equivalent) degree (with a minimum GPA of 3.0), with prior coursework comparable to the following list:

General chemistry	CHE 2A and 2B
Organic chemistry	CHE 8A and 8B
General biology	BIS 1A, 1B and 1C; or BIS 2A, 2B, 2C/PLS 2
Physics	PHY 1A and 1B
Statistics	AMR/PLS 120 (recommended) or STA 13 or STA 100
Genetics	BIS 101 or PLB 152
Plant physiology	PLB 111 or 112 or ENH 102
Soils	SSC 100

A limited number of deficiencies in these areas can be made up after admission to the graduate program. However, these make-up courses do not count toward the graduate degree unit requirement.
